One chair, one conversation, a cut that holds.
In 2012 Marcos opened on 24th Street with two chairs a friend lent him and a hand-painted sign. He served eleven people the first week. Thirty-four the second. We've never advertised: what brings people here is someone walking out with a good cut and getting asked where they got it.
A classic cut takes forty-five minutes because forty-five minutes is what doing it properly takes. We never squeeze two appointments into one slot. That's why sometimes there's nothing today — and why, when there is, it's entirely yours.
All five barbers here have spent at least six months at the station of someone with more years. We don't hire on résumés: we hire on how they hold the shears on day one and how they listen to a client on day two.
What you see on the menu is what you pay. No surcharges for long hair, thick beards or Saturdays.
Comb and shears are disinfected between clients. The razor takes a disposable blade, always, no exceptions.
Come to talk and we'll talk. Come to be quiet for forty minutes and that works too. Just say so when you sit down.
Book at six, you sit at six. If we run more than ten minutes late, the service is half price.
